Oktoberfest 2024: We analyzed all the tents to find the best!

By 19. September 2024October 16th, 2024No Comments

Even the tents at the Oktoberfest can no longer ignore online reviews. Every year, visitors share their experiences on Google, Yelp and other platforms. We at gominga are not only big Oktoberfest fans, but also a Munich-based company that specializes in analyzing customer experiences. Therefore, we have a special interest in finding out which tent is the most popular based on visitor feedback.

Everyone says which the best beer tent is – but we know!

We divided the visitor reviews into the categories of music, prices, atmosphere, food (quality and quantity), beer quality and service and created a sentiment analysis for the most popular Oktoberfest tent. The aim of our “Wiesn Insights” analysis is to provide meaningful data based on real visitor opinions.

As our Wiesn-Insights already aroused great interest last year (see report in the Münchener Abendzeitung), we are making our data available to all interested parties again this year and updating it as the Wiesn progresses.

#1 Ochsenbraterei

The Ochsenbraterei owes its name to the huge Grill, which has been an integral part of the Wiesn tent since 1881. The fresh cuisine impresses with ox specialties and vegetarian options. The main attraction of the tent, however, are the ox dishes, where the name and weight of each ox is displayed.

The tent is known for its great atmosphere and good service. During the day there is a traditional atmosphere with brass band music, while in the evening a more varied repertoire is offered. The Oktoberfest band Mathias Achatz is particularly popular with Munich locals.

Our sentiment analysis of the Ochsenbraterei shows that visitors particularly like the music, the food and the good atmosphere. The high prices are a negative factor.

The tent is managed by Antje and Luis Haberl and has space for 5,900 guests inside and 1,646 outside. The beer is supplied by Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu.

Quotes from visitors at google

“Great atmosphere, great band and the waitresses,….. absolutely awesome. You’re doing the best job ever. ❤️❤️❤️”

“For me, one of the best folk festivals in the world. It’s just an experience.”

“Great atmosphere and very good food. The Kaiserschmarrn in particular was a poem!”

#2 Armbrustschützenzelt

The Armbrustschützenzelt has been an integral part of the Oktoberfest since 1895 and skillfully combines tradition with a festive atmosphere. It offers its guests a unique blend of Bavarian culture and sporting shooting competition.

The kitchen spoils you with classic Bavarian dishes that go perfectly with the beer from the Paulaner brewery. Here, visitors can enjoy hearty delicacies that round off the authentic Wiesn experience.

A special highlight of the tent is the hosting of the German Crossbow Championships in a separate annex. In addition, weekly performances by traditional costume groups and the 23-piece Platzl Oktoberfest band provide the best entertainment.

The tent is run by Katharina and Peter Inselkammer and offers space for 5,820 guests inside and 1,600 outside. The decoration and the name of the tent are reminiscent of its Schützen tradition and make it a unique experience at the Oktoberfest.

Quotes from visitor reviews from Google:</strong

“Great music, excellent organization. The food is very good, but the snack platter is a bit sparse.”

“The staff were very friendly and attentive. The beer (Paulaner) tasted good. The portions were large…”

“Very tasty chicken, well-poured beer, the Pirsche Box was very comfortable.”

#3 Käfer Wiesn Schänke

The Käfer Wiesn-Schänke offers a unique Oktoberfest experience in a cozy Bavarian mountain hut atmosphere. Founded in 1971 as a small chicken roasting house, the tent has developed into a permanent feature of the Wiesn under the management of Gerd Käfer and later his son Michael. With its alpine coziness and extended opening hours, the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke is clearly different from the traditional beer tents.

The kitchen is known for its high-quality, traditional dishes and delicacies. Although the food is offered at an upmarket price, guests appreciate the first-class quality. Paulaner beer is served to round off the gastronomic offer perfectly.

A special highlight of the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke is the musical entertainment: five bands play on two floors and ensure a lively atmosphere. Particularly popular with celebrities and regular guests, the tent attracts a diverse audience.

The tent offers space for 1,500 guests indoors and 2,022 seats in the beer garden. Thanks to its special atmosphere and exclusivity, the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke is an exceptional address at the Oktoberfest.

“Great location at the Oktoberfest, both inside and outside in the beer garden! The staff are competent, friendly and always on the ball!…”
